Skin Healing Concerns & Tips

The Importance of Good Health

by June Carr

The most important factor in this life is our health and well being and we need to do everything that we can to maintain the right balance. Unquestionably other things are crucial also, we all share the need for an ample amount of income to live in society, we require companionship and shelter in order to sustain a healthy level of life, but in this writer's thinking, nothing is as crucial than our health and well being. now that I've said this, how will I back it up?

While my opinions are my own, they do include some substance and are not idle chatter. I was forunate to have (or had) a good friend whose focus in his life the acquiring of wealth, this didn't cause him to be a negative person, quite the reverse is true, more than once he came to me when times were tough desiring to help, yet he is now gone from this world, he lost his health and then his life. This of course is a rare example and I certainly do not want to color this article with darkness, rather insights for life.

This is not a debating ground for spiritual themes, yet in my heartI believe unquestionably that the essense that is us continues and that this life is asimply a rehearsal for what follows; having said that I want to enjoy this life to the fullest, enjoying, taking in the air, feeling the excitement of the wind in my hair and the beauty of a colorful twilight. When it's my time to go, I'll move without fear to my maker, but until then, I will continue to journey boldly across the land and this can only be done with my health.

One skeptic wondered! 'Why is health more important than wealth?'

In my humble opinion, when we have our health we can go all-out, we can earn a living, we can generate resumes, go on career interviews, go after our dreams, attempt new projects, live up to and exceed our potential, but only if we have the strength and well being to do so. Where I sit here writing this article, I'm looking across the water, it is peaceful and serene and my thoughts are free to meander and soar, but my thoughts are fueled by my body and my body by good nutrition, staying active and a optimistic take on my life; yet again, all this is fueled by good health.

Every evening as I start to close my eyes, I think optimistic thoughts, I observe deep breathing, I connect with my maker (yes I believe He exists), and I express thanks for my fitness, but I am careful to not take it for granted, I work to keep it that way. Every day (and I'm not an early riser, favoring late night writing) I'll perform limbering exercises and lite aerobics to increase my heart rate. I'm fortunate, I do have good genetics, my mother lived to a ripe old age and my grandmother nearly the same, I learned these routines and I do not take them, nor my well being for granted.

I guess I'm somewhat on a campaign, having lost two close friends; two friends I had much regard for, but two friends who have now departed from this world. I do not mourn for them; knowing they now have transended, but I miss talking and sharing their company and desire that they were still sitting here with me.

Is there a moral to any of this..., it is simply to be thankful for the life given you and to cherish it. While I can give you no unambiguous clue as to what will transpire when we pass from this life, I can tender this suggestion.

Live your life to the fullest, and appreciate every breath that you breathe.
